OMG we had a busy weekend!
Friday night we did NOTHING. The kids rode their bikes until it got dark and then we grabbed Subway for dinner and we all just relaxed at home because I knew Saturday and Sunday would be nonstop.
Saturday morning my alarm clock went off at 6:30am! Not. A. Good. Feeling. Jonathan had an early morning baseball game which would not have been a bad thing if it weren’t 45 degrees outside and the wind blowing 20 mph! It was the longest 2 hours outside of our lives! EVERYONE was freezing, one of the little girls in the stands was crying because she was so cold, oh wait that was my daughter! My mom finally took Bry to the car for a while to warm up a bit, she came back a little happier. The kids got through their game, they lost but WHO CARED, all the parents were so glad it was time to go! Immediately following the game we had to volunteer at the Baseball Opening Day event. The sun was out and there was a little less wind but I was still so cold. The time went by and I was glad when it was time for us to go! I needed to thaw out for a while. We got to rest for a bit before we had to start getting ready for the Quinceanera we were attending that evening. The party was fun – LOTS of family. The kids had a great time. They got too play with cousins they don’t get to see very often and were on the dance floor a lot! My kids LOVE to dance, I wonder where they got that from?? We got home around midnight, had late night taco bell and fell fast asleep from our long day.
Sunday we slept in until about 10. I got up and totally forgot I had not done one ounce of laundry or cleaned the bathroom. Kaela and I began laundry and helped each other clean the bathroom. After we got dressed we headed for brunch at IHOP. I am a snob for IHOP pancakes, don’t like any others. The girls and I had a baby shower to go to so we headed off to that while Carlos and Jonathan practiced ball. As soon as we got home from the shower it was time to get ready for Jonathan’s second game of the weekend. It was SO pretty outside! The game was fantastic, they lost but gosh they played great and that is because we were missing 3 players. Jonathan got the game ball. He got 3 runs; hit all 3 times, caught a fly ball for an out, made another out at second base and was a real team leader! GO Jonathan and the Tigers! We have 8 more games; hopefully we can win at least one! From Jonathan’s game we went immediately over to Carlos’ games, he too plays ball! Needless to say we got home around 10pm, ate fast food quickly, bathed the kids and crashed!
I have pictures from the party Saturday night but I haven’t uploaded them yet. I will post them tomorrow.
we are a crazy, tv watching, bike riding, park playing, sports loving, easy going, busy being, flip flop wearing, always eating, shopping, movie watching, hunting, camping, talking, reading, photograph taking, vacationing family.

Change O' Plans
Last night I was trying to decide when to do my working out when all of a sudden the doorbell rings. I run down stairs to see who it is and it’s the lovely Lorraine B. (she is a long time friend and new neighbor to our hood) She heard I have been doing the Jillian 30 Day Shred and thought I should try working out with Bob too so brought me The Biggest Loser Cardio video, she is so sweet! I was actually pumped, I have looked at it on eBay to purchase I just hadn’t done it. She said I could borrow it for a couple of week just to try it out – SWEET! So after we said our goodbyes and thank you’s I ran back up stairs to try it. I am kinda thrilled, it’s a 6 week work out and it has 3 levels again, basically you are on each level for 2 weeks. SO I started last night and it’s hard (my ass is hurting today) the only thing I don’t like is that there is no ab work out so I will have to do it on my own. We shall see if I lose more, less or the same in the next 6 week and I will measure my waist and hips this time! Check back for updates!

Bob may be too nice for me, I like getting yelled out while I work out it keeps me motivated!

30 Days Over
Yesterday was my 30th day of shredding, yippee! This morning I jumped on the scale, I lost 5 pounds in 30 days, I guess it is decent. My mom says I have defiantly lost inches but of course I didn’t measure myself 30 days ago to confirm that. I plan to measure myself though today so I can keep track of weight and inches. I have decided to start it over. I am going back to level 1 but this time follow the harder girl and not do the moderate exercises and I have upped my weights as well. I feel much better than I did at the beginning and I have notice a big change in my pants, mostly in the rear which is always nice. I don’t necessarily have a goal, 30 pounds would be ideal but I will just continue to do this as long as I am interested. It feels good to work out and sweat which I actually enjoy.

Spring Break
Spring break has come and gone, so quickly I might add! It’s crazy how April is just around the corner, it never fails that the showers begin when baseball does!
I think the kids had a great spring break; a break is what they needed.
Monday they just hung around the house. They had plans to go to the rodeo with my mom and sister but my niece was running fever so they put it off until Tuesday.
Tuesday came quick they were off to the rodeo for some animal petting, cotton candy eating and rides. They were exhausted by the time they got home, just the way my mom and I like them!

These were the only two pics that they took with all the kids, it was at the beginning of their day.
Wednesday I took off and we stayed around the house, cleaned up and relaxed.

The weather was awesome so we walked to Sonic for “happy hour”.

Then the kids decided it would be fun to wash my car.

While they washed my car I finished the 4th book in the Twilight series…FINALLY!
Thursday Jonathan went to work with Carlos so my mom, the girls and I went to see a movie.

It was really good and I was glad we went, they girls enjoyed it too.
After the movie Kaela had her 12 year old check up, an hour and ½ and 4 shots later we were walking out the door to the mall to window shop!
Friday the girls and I went to see Taylor Swift at the Rodeo, SO MUCH FUN! She was great and put on an excellent show, I would probably see her again in concert if she came back around.

Saturday we had a birthday party to go to for a 2 year old. The kids thought they would be too old for the party but ended up having fun!

Probably too old but what the heck!

PLEASE dont drop the iPhone, it's not ours!

Kids always love moonwalks!
Sunday we were outside for most of the day watching Carlos play softball.

Our Weekend
Our weekend was full of NOTHING! Carlos is out of town for a funeral and it was cold and rainy so it just seemed like a good time to be at home watching oodles of TV! Has anyone seen Defiantly, Maybe? SO CUTE, I watched it twice back to back – love girl movies! And then I managed to watch P.S. I Love you for the 100th time and still cried, I don’t know what it is about that movie and me! I also got caught up on all the episodes of The Real World Brooklyn, am I the only one who still watches this, I have seen every season except Chicago, lame?
We have a party coming up in 2 weekends so we did manage to go to the mall with the other million people that wanted covered parking, I swear we circled a few hundred times just so we didn’t have to get wet! We were successful in finding covered parking and outfits for the party. So I bought a halter dress that is long. I don’t think I have ever worn a halter before so I am a little nervous! It is super cute though and I am excited to wear it. I have always wanted one of those long cute dresses too. What do you think?

Gotta love me some JCPenny's! Its the print dress, cute? Will I look just like the model, most likely not!
Day 20 of my shred was yesterday that means I moved up to level 3. I am sore today but not what I expected. It wasn’t too hard but everything had weights even the jumping jacks and jump rope but most of the exercises were the same as level 1 and 2 just a little more difficult. I will weigh myself next Thursday morning; ideally I would love to see 7 pounds lost. I know 20 is a stretch given I haven’t done Jillian’s eating diet so I am pulling for a 7, it’s my lucky number! At this point I am thinking of starting over after my 30 days and upping my weights. It’s a hard work out but honestly 20 minutes a day has been simple for me to commit too.

Acreage
I remember lying in bed last October with Carlos. He was annoyed and I was exhausted. I being the good wife asked him what was wrong even though I really just wanted to roll over and crash. He said he wanted his own piece of property. He was tired of hunting on other people’s property that a) didn’t have deer or b) wanted to charge him. I completely understood. He then said he wanted property before he turned 33. I laughed, that was a mere 6 months away and not possible. I told him to hang in for another year so we could save and find the right piece of property but I promised him we would get something, just not now. Little did I know 3 months after that conversation he would get a call from his uncle. His uncle’s realtor had contacted him to tell him about a great piece of property that would go quickly. He encouraged Carlos to come out that weekend and look at. I too encouraged Carlos to go look at it…hoping he would hate it! It was too soon to look for property I thought. So that weekend he and his two uncles headed out west to check out the 100 acres. He called me that Saturday and asked if he could put earnest money down, he loved it – of course he loved it, 100 acres, water, electricity, a cottage (I call it a shack). It was everything he had been wanting and for the right price. I agreed thinking there was no way we would get approved and come up with money for a down payment. Well 2 months later we did get approved and we did come up with the down payment…
We are officially owners of 100.1 acres in Val Verde County, Texas!
Owning property has been Carlos’ dream for a long time. I am very happy for him and our family. The kids are ecstatic – they are just like him – love to run the open outdoors!
When we were telling the kids about it a couple weeks ago Carlos told Jonathan if we get the property he is going to run nude when he gets there. So last night when we told the kids it was ours Jonathan runs up to Carlos and says, “So dad now we can go run…you know…” We all laughed and he got embarrassed!

End of the Season
Basketball ended on Saturday. The kids were kinda bummed; both Bryanna and Jonathan really enjoyed the season even though they only won 2 games. Jonathan and Bryanna didn’t play that well together though. At first they only would pass to each other but as the season went on they wouldn’t pass at all to each other. You could see Bry on the court talking “smack” to Jonathan to leave her alone! Bryanna said she would play again if she was on an all girls team, I will definitely look for one for her. She did really well this season, she made more points during the last game then Jonathan did, much improved!

Thanks for NOT smiling Jonathan!

Bryanna and Abbey, Abbey came to cheer on the last game.

The Cougars
I am waiting for other parents to send me their pictures of the ice cream party and trophies. My camera ran out of batteries!
Today is 17 days of the 30 day shred! I am slowly getting there. I feel much better, my clothes are a little loser too. I still don’t plan to weigh myself until day 30. Level 2 is pretty hard. I struggle still but I get through it…beat red!
