Back to school blues...yea right!

The kids were very excited about going back to school! Everyone was up, fed and ready!

Jonathan didnt really want to take a picture but seriously he didnt have a choice!

He did however take a picture with his new teacher, Ms. Batcha!

Here is Bryanna posing for me! We heard through the grapevine that crocs were no longer going to be allowed at school so I told Bryanna to wear them today before the official announcement...we are such rebels!

Bryanna and Ms. Watters.

Bryanna and her best bud Abbey, they get to sit next to each other...for now! No telling how long that will actually last!

And Miss Middle School girl! She was VERY excited, it will be a whole new world for her! I cant wait to hear about her day!

Happy first day of school to everyone!

Drum roll please...

Teacher cards have arrived! The kids were excited to see who they got...not that they actually know who they are but whatev, it means school is even closer then they think!

Jonathan is going to 1st grade and he has Ms.Batcha. Ms. Batcha's first year of teaching was last year. I am sure she learned a lot and hopefully this year will be a great one for Jonathan and her! Jonathan got right on the phone to call his best bud Griffin to see who he had...WE got so lucky - they are together, Jonathan was very excited.

Bryanna is going into 2nd grade and she has Ms. Watters. I was personally very excited. I a) used to babysit for Ms. Watters, long long ago and b) her mom was my second grade teacher. I thought it was pretty neat. Her mother was one of the best teachers I ever had and truly remember her still to this day. I hope Bryanna's second grade year will be as memorable as mine was.

Kaela unfortunately only got a card that said: Report to room 302. She asked me when she gets to meet her teachers; unfortunately middle school doesn’t work that way. I told her the first day of school dear...she was a little bummed. I did however get the school lunch menu, printed it out for her to show her all the other selections she will get to choose from. Although she packed her lunch every day in elementary school she was excited to see she could order different things like wraps, fajita tacos, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches.

Amazing...

Amazing, simply amazing. We have been Olympic freaks which I never thought we would but when we start watching and can’t stop. Did anyone watch on Saturday night? It was great! The Romania women who won the 26.2 mile run is probably the most amazing lady I have seen. She not only won but the race turned into a one-woman race, the others were far behind. She crossed the finish line and continued to run; I never saw her stop. I am sure that had to do with her legs and the distance she ran but all the others stopped to catch their breath, not her though. She grabbed her countries flag and continued. Kudos to her; she is an inspiration to all.

Then Phelps – 8 gold medals my god he is fantastic! His race was intense on Saturday night especially since he had to depend on others to win that can be so iffy – but they all pulled together and won…for him! I was so thankful that he thanked his team mates afterward because it sure was a team effort! Kudos to him as well, what a great achievement.

Bryanna asked me this weekend how old she has to be to be in the Olympics, she wants to be a diver! I told her I wasn’t too sure but I would look into it for her. There was a diver from right outside of Katy or Houston so maybe there is a coach close to us??? We shall see!

***

School is fast approaching; the kids have 7 days left of summer. We are ready though. We finished our school clothes shopping this weekend. I just need to get a few more supplies from the list and we are set. The girls have their first day outfits picked out, Jonathan could care less!

I really thought Kaela would be nervous but she is very excited, it’s a new journey for her, new place, new teachers, new memories and hopefully some nice new friends. Bryanna and Jonathan claim they aren’t ready to start back but I think they are excited. I am ready for them to go back; we need to get back on a schedule! Thursday Kaela has a "Bear Walk" which she gets to spend about 3 hours up at the school, learning the place and then Thursday evening the kids have their open house where they get to meet their new teacher...hopefully we get good ones!

Time fly's by...

Where does time go? Wouldn’t it be cool if we could just pause for a moment and soak up all the old memories good and bad for a day and we wouldn’t lose any more time? I have loved my children from the day I met each one of them. I have also loved every stage of their life, some more than others but nevertheless all of them. They are all at a very active stage in their lives right now and Carlos and I have waited for it for a while now. We love watching our kids succeed in the activities they are in; we could stay here forever although we know it won’t happen that way. They are changing every day.

My dad found a roll of film in his room a couple weeks ago took it to get developed and brought it home. He gave me the envelope when I got home and said these are for you, you gotta see them. I opened it and nearly fell to the floor with gleam. They were of my kids, almost 5 years ago. I love looking back at the kid’s baby pictures and remembering, that is what we did with these. We talked about how much ALL of them have changed, how cute they were, what they were like at that age, how chubby Jonathan was, how wild Bryanna was back then and she still is, how little teeth Kaela had! I wanted to share 2 of the pictures with you. (They are pictures of a picture so not the best quality)

Everyone needs to go find old photos and remember…its fun, I promise!

This week

Although I am not a huge fan of the Olympics I will however watch the gymnastics part of it. I always remember as a little girl how much I wanted to be there and wanted to do all those flips. I did take gymnastics as a kid but was NEVER close to doing anything cool, the bridge was the coolest thing I could do! Oddly enough I remember when Mary Lou Retton was in the Olympics, its crazy those who stick out in your mind from so many years ago. Jonathan is very excited to watch the swimming part. After swim team ended the preliminaries started for the Olympics and he thought it was really cool how fast and good they were, maybe one day he can be there too?! Poor child we have such high athletic expectations for him.

This week we had a storm come through. Of course all the news media had Houston thinking it would be another Rita or Katrina but hardly. It never turned in to a hurricane it was merely a bad rain storm. I unlike many other in Houston had to come into work; I braved the storm thanks to my boss! Anyhow someone sent me the first pictures of the damage so I wanted to share it with you…

Yes people in Galveston actually evacuated due to Tropical Storm Edouard - like I mentioned, it was just a rain storm. Someone lost their beer though.

You have got to be kidding me...

Friday after work I had errands to run. Bryanna had a party Saturday morning so we needed to run to Michael's to get a gift, I wanted to use my coupon at JcPenny's, feed the kids dinner at the mall and go by Victoria's Secret to get my 2 free panties I had coupons for.

We headed out...

Michaels - CHECK
JcPennys - CHECK
Dinner - CHECK
Victoria's Secret - yeah right...

As soon as we finished Chick-fil-a Jonathan explained that he was not feeling well. He looked at me and sort of faked gaged. I was said seriously do you need to throw up? I think so mama he said with sad eyes. Of course my first thought is SHIT! Then I said as soon as the girls get back from throwing the trash away we will go straight to the bathroom, just hold on to this bag just in case. As soon as the girls came back Jonathan hurled right into the bag. Second thought was SHIT SHIT! Ok Jonathan hurry lets go to the bathroom just keep the bag over your mouth. We get half way to the restroom and he stops and throw ups again, the bag still over his mouth but this time the bag breaks, the throw up is all over him, the floor and OUR feet! Third thought SHIT SHIT SHIT and damn sorry janitors! We finish our run to the restroom and of course he is done throwing up by then. Obviously we left after that, I glanced over and saw his mess was being cleaned up so we darted quietly the other way to the car.

I went back the next morning to get my free panties!
