I love you flower headband

UPDATED:
I found a new love; it’s this really cute black headband with a tacky flower on it. I have wore it every day since I purchased it at Claire’s, Kaela reminds me of this daily. I loved it so much that I went back to the mall to buy more colors but could not quite pick out a different color that I wear a lot probably because I only wear black. I went to a number of stores looking for the second best headband and came up empty. I loved my black one anyway and didn’t want to part with it.

I have worn it to work every day as well. I think it makes me look spunky. I am about to be 30, I want to be spunk! I actually blow dry my hair and fix it rather than throwing it in a pony tail. I have had lots of compliments on it, everyone seems to love it in the office or at least they have noticed it and made sure to mention it. Then after about a week of wearing it my coworkers asked if I had another color. I guess they were getting tired of the black one. I stopped wearing it at that point. I went back to the mall and purchased the white one. Today I am wearing the white one; I have no black on today so I look very summery. Here are the comments I have gotten from my coworkers on the white one:

Are you getting married today?

We need to come up with a new name for you, something that is more girlie because Ryan isn’t.

It’s ok to act like your 13 at times, it can be fun.

OH you bought another color, finally!

HA you must love those headbands, you should buy another color.

You look so sweet and innocent with that flower on your head.

Ok so seriously can’t a girl buy an accessory because she likes them and not have any comments, I mean seriously! No one ever made comments about how shitty my hair looked in a pony every day! I am keeping them both and I will continue to wear them…how you like that sucka!? I looked into purchasing the one below but I don’t think they make adult sizes but how freaking cute is the butterfly one?! I have contacted the lady asking for an adult size one.

Party time

A few posts ago I talked about my 30th birthday; it is right around the corner. Being torn between an 80’s party or having Carlos plan the night. I didn’t want to hurt his feelings because him planning something is very sweet and doesn’t happen too often but an 80’s party has been a dream of mine. Well today my friends I have decided…80’s party it is. The place is booked, some of my 80’s attire has been purchased and I am placing an order for 80’s goodies to give out at the shindig as well! I will now begin to make my invites! I AM SO EXCITED, who knew turning 30 could be so fun!

Long weekend

Our weekend was good, can’t really say I remember half of it, my brain doesn’t hold much for very long any more these days. It was a lazy weekend but we love lazy weekends. I also love not having things on my calendar. I got cleaning and laundry done, walked the mall, ran some errands, spent a little cash, hung out with family and friends, sat by the pool, went to the book store, started a new book, ate, worked out and then nearly passed out (more on that in a bit), watched a movie, wanted to go to the movies but never did, took a nap, received a new dress from a friend (gotta love early birthday gifts), watched my daughter decide what clothes she did and didn’t want to keep anymore (Bryanna not Kaela), buried a dead rat the cat brought to the front porch!

All and all it was a good 3 day weekend – when is the next one?

Back to the nearly passing out after my work out. I started BL Boot Camp two weeks ago. The first 2 weeks is a 20 minute workout, it was almost too easy that I even complained about it being easy. It was SO easy that I took up jogging/walking for a mile at the park in order to feel more fulfilled by my workout. Saturday I started level 2 which is a 15 minute workout; you combine it with level 1’s 20 minutes. BOY.WAS.I.WRONG. Level 2 is nothing compared to level 1, it was so hard and I could barely hang SERIOUSLY. At one point I had to press pause, run to the rest room, drink water from the sink, beg Jonathan to grab me cold ice water, sat down, inhaled and exhaled a million times…it was rough! I did however get up and finish it the best I could. The second day not so bad but I was sore! The next 2 weeks will be hard…I am dreading level 3! Sorry Bob for underestimating you, I do sincerely apologize!

Questions of the Day

Why is it that when a lady loses weight her boobs shrink? (at least mine are) When men lose weight does their “package” shrink?

Probably not, life is SO unfair!

Hair do or DONT?!

Jonathan got a new hair-DON’T during the Rockets game yesterday. I think it was a little pressure from his uncles. He thought it was super cool until he had to go to school this morning, he said he was going to wear his hoodie all day long…thank goodness we got a cold front!

He will be at the pool the next couple of days hopefully tanning the head!

Swimteam = Love

I LOVE swim team for many reasons, here are my top 10 reasons:

10. It is great exercise for my kids
9. It makes them better swimmers
8. They learn new strokes
7. Kids need routines in the summer
6. It teaches them discipline
5. They get to be around their friends for the first part of the summer
4. They get to make new friends
3. Being outside on nice days
2. They get ribbons after each heat whether they did great or need work

And the number 1 reason:

They are exhausted by the end!

Last night was their first practice, just an hour long but from what I heard the new coach worked them out. Kaela seems to think she did 75 laps; I was not there to confirm that though! They got home at 6pm, Bryanna knocked out by 6:15 and Jonathan was out by 6:45. Kaela was not so lucky she had lots of homework to finish. I, on the other hand got to watch 3 hours of TV tucked in my bed undisturbed…heaven! It’s one of the best $130 I spend yearly!

Workout update: Tomorrow marks the first week of me doing BL Boot Camp. The first 2 weeks is a 20 minute workout so it has been pretty easy. Definitely not as hard as I thought it would be. Since I am use to doing 40 minutes from the Cardio Max I felt like I was cheating myself only doing 20 minutes. I have been going to the park and walking/jogging for a mile. It takes about 20 minutes so at least I am still doing 40minutes a day, I have worked up endurance for that and don’t want to lose it.

Sugar ants really are nice...when you feed them!

The other night we were driving to pick up dinner, this is how the conversation went:

Jonathan: Mom, I have an ant on me.

Me: Kill it Jonathan!

Jonathan: NO! It’s a sugar ant mom.

Me: Oh, you must taste sweet then.

Jonathan: Yup. You know why it likes me?

Me: No, why?

Jonathan: Because I rubbed my lollypop all over my hand and it's actually eating it.

Me: Oh that is gross and you are going to be all sticky.

Jonathan: So. It likes me.

So we get to our destination. He then proceeds to keep the ant on his hand; sits at the table while we are waiting for our takeout food and watches the ant continue to “eat” the lollypop off of his hand. Of course then Bryanna wanted a sugar ant too.

It was lost somewhere from the restaurant to the car…thank god.

Weekend Run Down

Our weekend was so busy again which made it fly by way to fast! I had the day off on Friday and volunteered at Field Day at the elementary school. I was in charge of the football toss; I am thinking they thought I was a male, Ryan Flores?! It was the worst, I got hit on the hand too many times to count, in the chest and in the stomach…children aim for the tire not ME! I got through it and the kids were delighted that I was there so in the end that is what counted the most. I got a pedicure that afternoon and honestly I can’t even remember what we did Friday night which I pretty darn sad!

Saturday Jonathan had his first playoff game. We got to the field early so we could hang our Tiger’s sign that some of the mothers painting, it turned out cute! The game was hot and very long – we lost but it was a good game! Baseball is now officially over for us…just in time for swim team to start on Wednesday. After the game we met up with another family from the team for some pizza and laughs. Then we went to the pool because we were all ridiculously hot and needed to cool down. That evening we ended up at some friend’s house for some great BBQ!

Sunday was Mother’s Day, I personally don’t like these little holidays but I went with the flow. Carlos and I were actually up before the kids. I did a load of laundry and worked out…Carlos actually worked out with me, I couldn’t believe it. We jogged and walked at the park and then did some jumps on the benches. He was a great partner and I can only hope he keeps it up with me, I would love a work out partner! We went to the pool again and it was so crowded. We then brushed and washed the dog. She now has a pretty pink collar and looks so good! It was a pretty relaxing day.

Next weekend we only have 1 thing on the calendar, ahem!

Poundage and Measurments

Today marks the end of my 11th week of working out. 11 weeks has gone by really quickly, I can only hope the next 11 weeks goes by just as quick. Today I start BL Boot Camp, I am about to do it, hopefully I enjoy it because it is a 6 week video. I jumped up this morning because I was SO ready to weigh and measure myself, here are the results:

These results were done on April 4th:
Weight: 168 lbs
Waste: 33.5 inches
Lower waste: 37 inches
(Below my belly button where my baby pooch is)
Hips: 43.5 inches
Left thigh: 25.5 inches
Right thigh: 26 inches
Left arm: 13 inches
Right arm: 13 inches

My results as of May 8th:
Weight: 162 lbs
Waste: 31 inches
Lower waste: 35 inches(Below my belly button where my baby pooch is)
Hips: 42 inches
Left thigh: 25 inches
Right thigh: 25 inches
Left arm: 13 inches
Right arm: 13 inches

When I started 11 weeks ago, I only weighed myself and at that time I weighed 173 so as of today I have lost 11 pounds, I am good with 1 pound a week and at least it is consistant! I am excited to keep going now that I see results both in number and my clothes!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

First and foremost, thanks to all of those who bought baseball raffle tickets from Jonathan. His goal was to not be the #1 seller but to be the #2 seller. The first place seller won an xbox 360, we have that. The second place winner won an iPod Touch which WE totally wanted! Anyhow when it was all said and done Jonathan finished up selling 198 tickets for his baseball association. We got the list of winners yesterday and sure enough my boy was the # 2 seller – WE were very excited. Last night we went to pick up his prizes and I say prizes because any kid that sold over 75 got a $50 gift card to Best Buy. His eyes were HUGE when he saw the iPod Touch, he had no clue what it really was, and he was quite delighted and couldn’t wait to use it! When we walked into the house the girls were not happy at all – they were very jealous that Jonathan had a new cool toy and they didn’t. Maybe Jonathan will share…but I doubt it! Jonathan had just got an iPod Shuffle for his birthday so now Mommy gets it so I am a winner too!

The other night Carlos took all the kids up to the park to play ball, what a surprise huh?! Kaela is a really good ball player too, it’s too bad that we haven’t started her in softball but hopefully she will play next year. Carlos throws the balls fairly hard at the kids because they can catch them. Well he threw the ball at Kaela and she didn’t catch it but her chin did and now she has a huge bruise! Poor gal – I had to share the picture of it. Carlos felt pretty bad and had no clue he had even hit her! Whoops.

I weigh and measure tomorrow morning…I am really hoping to see some good results but I will definitely share them with you all! I also start BL* Boot Camp tomorrow as well, I hope I like as much as I have like Cardio Max and the Shred.

Birthday Girl

A year has passed so quickly, I remember sitting at the hospital with family waiting to hear you had come. We had no idea at that time what your name would be, I voted Lennon others voted Everly. Lennon it was – beautiful and healthy baby girl. This morning I got to see you when your mommy dropped you off, you melt my heart every time, so cute, sweet and already spunky!

Happy Birthday Leni Bean!

This and that

This one will be all over, lots to say I suppose!

I love Fridays, it means the start of the weekend and who doesn’t love the weekend, rest, relax, sleep, and watch a little TV…not so much for us though! I swear the weekends have been full lately. I love when we have NO plans but that definitely was not the case for us this weekend or next for that matter. Friday though we didn’t have plans. I got home and did my workout. Carlos got home and we went to dinner, we had a good dinner, lots of laughs and conversation. It’s nice to sit at a table and listen to how your kid’s week went and to listen to their stories. They have such great minds and Carlos and I just soaked it all in along with eating WAY too much!

There was no sleeping in Saturday morning; my alarm went off at 6am, ugg! Jonathan had a very early morning baseball game. It was the last regular game of the season. Jonathan had an EXCELLENT game, made every play and only missed 1 ball. See he plays short stop, it’s one of the most important positions, other than 1st base in little league and I tell you what, he did such a great job on Saturday, we were very proud and he earned a DS game for his work! His team is now going to the playoffs, don’t let that fool you though, we only won 1 game this season but EVERYONE makes the playoffs! We can’t wait! As soon as the game ended Jonathan and I jumped into the car, I speed while he changed; we were off to a birthday party that we were running late too. He got to play and eat cake so he was happy yet exhausted, his day was already long it was only 11am. The kid knew our pool opened this weekend so after we all ate lunch they were dying to go so we obliged and went. We love the pool, I love taking the kids, its what.we.do. in the summer and summer is practically here, my frizzy hair says so! We were there for about an hour and a half and then we had to go home and get dress for our next birthday party. My niece turns 1 on Cinco de Mayo so they had a pre-party for her on Saturday, pork tacos, guacamole, queso, bean and rice and family, YUMMY! We walked in the door and my sweet little neice had a tutu on…oh my let me eat her now, is she not the cutest:

She got a kitchen from her mommy and daddy

Checking out her gifts

She wasnt sure what to do with the cake

She even had a mini pinata, too cute!

We left around 8ish and headed home, my kids were exhausted from the day and so was I!

Sunday we got to sleep in for a bit but Carlos had softball games at 10 so we were back up eating donuts and getting ready for his games. Lots of wives and kids were there and it was fun, good convo and the kids yet again got to run and get sweaty all over! After Chinese buffet we went back to the pool! It rained a little but it didn’t stop them at all!

It was a good weekend; I can’t wait until the next one!

This is week 11 for me on my workout. I never had a goal weight set; I am just going with the flow really, 30 pounds would be great but I am not holding my breath. Ideally I would love to be in a size 8 comfortably, I think that was probably my high school size and I would be extremely happy with that. Before we left for my sister’s house on Saturday I pulled out a pair of jeans I bought last year that were size 10, figuring let me just try it. I held them up and eyed it to see if my rear was gonna fit and I was pretty skeptical about it but tried anyway…they fit and I didn’t even have to suck in! It was a great feeling SO with that being said I have dropped 1 pant size, I was in a 12 but the 12 was fitting very tight! Now let me set the record straight, these size 10’s were not baggy but they weren’t extremely tight either but at least I know something is shrinking! This is my last week for the Biggest Loser Cardio Max work out, Friday I will measure and weigh and then begin the Biggest Loser Boot Camp – I am excited! Hopefully in another 10 weeks I can be in a different size?!
