Weekly Update...

Our week was normal but our weekend was crazy! We didn’t have much down time at all! Carlos ended up going to Seguin, Texas. For those who don’t know most of his extended family on both his mom and dad’s side live there. There was family in from Ohio so he went to spend time with them. Unfortunately the kids had a busy schedule so we were unable to go with him. Saturday morning Jonathan had an 830 game – YES they won again they are now 6-0, this Saturday is his last game though. We are sad – it’s SO much fun watching them. Jonathan scored 10 points in the game and made a “swoosh” as he calls it! As soon as the game was over he called Carlos right away to tell him. After the game we were off to a quick breakfast at IHOP and off to baseball practice for 2 hours! After practice we ran home to change and we were off to a bowling party. It was much fun and the entire bowling alley was full of parties and chaos but we had a great time. Then we were off to delivering cookies out in the Katy area! We finally got home around 7 and babysat for Oliver. Oliver was fully of energy as soon as the kids walked in the door – they had a great time playing hide and seek with him! Sunday we had our Cookie Booth for Bryanna’s troop. We had 156 boxes of cookies to sell in 4 hours. The girls did an excellent job and we SOLD OUT in 3 hours and 15 mins! All the parents were super excited, mostly because we didnt have to stand there any longer! We ended our day with Carlos’s softball games. Needless to say we were all ready for bed!

I will post pictures this week!

26 More Days...

Hopefully you aren't tired of my countdown yet! We are just too darn excited not to share! We have 26 more days until our trip. Kaela is quickly working on her chores so she can have her iPod. Carlos and I have purchased it but it is safely tucked away in a hiding spot! If she doesn’t complete the chores it goes to ME! I told her last night she needed to work hard so I have time to actually download songs on it before we leave OR she will be listening to silence on it. We are anxiously awaiting our final itinerary. I am dying to see all the wonderful and exciting places we are going! As soon as I have the itinerary I will post it!

Weekly Update

It will be intersting to see how long I do a weekly update. There are lots of weekend that we really just do nothing at all! Kaela got to spend the night at her bff's house on Friday. She was very excited to get away from her brother and sister and they were actually glad she was gone too...how rude I thought but I guess that comes with the territory! Jonathan had a very early basketball game on Saturday, all the kids were dragging! They are 5-0 though! We have 2 more games left. I am Cookie Troop Manager this year for Bryanna's brownie troop so after the game Carlos and I had to go pick up all the cookies her troop sold. 129 cases of cookies. We pull up and all we both can say is...OH HELL NO! The line was a never ending snake needless to say we were pulling out 90 mins later with all of our cookies stuffed in and out of Carlos' truck! The weather was very nasty Saturday so I took that opportunity to sort everyones cookies and called every parent to have them come get the cookies, some are still sitting in our dining room but they are almost gone. Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day. The kids and I ran errands then Oliver came over to play - he loves coming over and never wants to leave. He is quite the talker now, I had a conversation with him over the walkie talkies, it was pretty darn cute! Bryanna, Kaela and I were off to her Brownie meeting Sunday evening and Carlos and Jonathan were off to Carlos' softball games...it was a late night, we were eating Whataburger at 930! I am off today - Presidents Day. The kids wanted to ride their bikes to school so we got lucky and had great weather so we were out the door at 7, I am leaving in about 15 mins to ride my bike back up to school to pick them up. Carlos and I watched a movie Friday night, Wild Hogs - HILARIOUS! Everyone needs to rent it!

I'm Obese

So a couple weekends ago the kids had a birthday party at pump it up, next door was LA Fitness so I immediately think what a great idea for me to go in and JUST look around. So I drop the kids off, tell the birthday parents I will be about 15 minutes and I will return, I am going to be right next door.

I walk in there, ask the receptionist if I can go walk around and look. She asks me to wait, calls someone and of course a salesman arrives very soon after. He guides me to his lovely cubical where everyone can hear and see you (no walls). Of course the questions begin, name, age, weight (I actually told the truth), why I am there?…duh I want to loose weight, why else would I really be here! Then he asks why I want to loose weight, umm hello isn’t it obvious?! I am a total fat ass! He asks what part of my body I hate the most and I tell him my belly – that nice little baby bump I got from my baby who is now 6 years old which really it shouldn’t be there any longer. So he says stand up and show it to me…um excuse me but I will pass, they guy in the cubical behind us laughs! Thanks for the privacy LA Fitness! So of course he has a bunch of lies he has to tell me in order to get me to sign TODAY! I listen and tell him that I am honestly looking around. LA Fitness isn’t the only place I am going to look and I really just want to see the facility itself. He then takes me on a lovely guided tour, asks over and over if I like it. Yeah of course it’s nice, its brand spanking new. He takes me back to his OH SO private cubical again to get my body fat number. This is what I learn: if your body fat is over 30% you’re considered obese…well guess what mine was 33%! I walked out of there 45 minutes later feeling wonderful about myself BUT I didn’t give into his wonderful lies – I am still not a client of LA Fitness!

Yes I have like 40 pounds I need to loose but I suppose if I have done it once I can do it again. I would rather keep the $30 a month and just give up cokes, chocolate and the kids leftovers. Jonathan starts baseball practice this week and the fields actually have a really good track SO I suppose while he is practicing I could exercise!

Weekly Update...

We had a great week! It was short for me; I took Friday off so I could volunteer at Bryanna's International Feast at school. I forgot to bring my camera but it was cute. Her entire class dressed up as Scottish people in their kilts. You should have seen how the boys were having to sit while eating their feast...I heard much complaints from them! Friday night the kids cousin Mryanda turned 11, they had a birthday dinner for her at Papasitos - yummy Mexican food and lots of laughs! Jonathan is now 4-0 in basketball. He made 18 points on Saturday's game - he was very proud and so were we! Carlos actually was asked to coach that game, our coach had prior commitments. Carlos did an excellent job and got lots of compliments on how he got all the kids involved, passing etc. Jagi picked up Oliver to give Jaime and Mike a little break, they have been pretty sick. He played guitar hero with us for a bit and actually liked it a lot! Sunday was packed for us. Carlos has now started back up with softball so he had 2 games then we headed straight for Jonathan baseball practice which has now begun and that lasted for 2 hours. We were all exhausted but man you could not beat being outside on Sunday here, the weather was picture perfect! I am including pictures of dinner on Friday with the Flores Family and Oliver playing GH...

40 days and counting...

Kaela and I officially have 40 more days until our big Washington trip. Kaela is still working very hard on getting the iPod before we leave. She has a little less then 100 chores to still complete in order to get it but she is determined. I keep reminding her how many days left and she sits and figures out how many chores she has to do per day! It's still to far away to figure out what type of clothes we will need although I am very ready to start packing. I am doing a list trying to figure out what all we will need. We are staying in 2 different rooms so we will not be able to pack together. She is rooming with 3 other girls and I opted for the single room other then rooming with another parent...no thanks! I want to take a book with me, does anyone have any good suggestions?

Weekly Update...

I forgot to send out our weekly update over the weekend from last week but I can sum it up in one word - uneventful! It was busy for me at work and busy at home, Bry and Jonathan had projects due for school but I was sure glad when Friday rolled around. Jonathan had his 3rd game on Saturday and they won again 32 to 12, 3-0! His Uncle Jeremy and Aleigha came out to cheer him on so he was pretty excited about that. The rest of the weekend was just normal family stuff! As far as Super Bowl went, Jonathan spent some of that time putting with Grandpa, Bry was hanging with Jagi and Kaela and I were are a crummy washateria washing our comforters. Carlos was the only one that actually watched the game but I am sure that had to do with him having money on it!

I have a quick story about the washateria. So everyone knows there is no such thing as a "nice" washateria off of Longpoint, actually nothing off of Longpoint is nice, it's basically mini Mexico City! Well Kaela and I had just put in our comforters and we were sitting there minding our own business and some lady comes up to me and says, "I am going to assume you speak english?" At that point I should have said "No Comprende" but I didnt, I just laughed and said yes. She then begins her sad story of needing to ride the metro bus and not having $2 to do so. SO I am thinking, a) honey you left the house knowing your a*& was going to ride metro why were you not prepared and b) why are you asking the only white person in the washateria for money! So anyway I figured ok let me do my good deed for the day and give her $1. YES I said only $1, so I dig for the quarters I had to do MY laundry and gave her only $1. She then says, "Well can you give me another $1?" Umm hello...I turn to that lady and pointed to my WET clothes and told her I still had to dry them! UGG people these days. I may sound VERY rude and cheap but seriously we all work very hard for our money and I only had $1 left to dry my clothes and I was there for that very reason since our washer and dryer just arent big enough for king size comforters. Anyhow Kaela and I got a kick out of it and of course Kaela watched that lady to see if she was really going to get on Metro or not, we lost track of her when we were moving from the washer area to the dryer area...with the $1 I had left!
