New addition

So we have a new family member! No we didn’t adopt a child or an animal and don’t plan to any time soon if ever. We haven’t even named our new member of the family but we are thinking or at least I am for the perfect name.

Carlos hunts a lot and we have an annual camping trip to Garner State Park with his family. Not that I am above sleeping in tents because the past 4 years I have slept in a tent but for some reason last camping trip just sucked, my kids are getting bigger, the tent is getting smaller and bugs seem to squeeze into the tent more easily now. I was pretty much fed up with the tent, air mattress and my husband sleeping in his own mini cot tent by himself. With much discussion, thought and shopping around we decided to purchase a travel trailer! We are very excited about our purchase and the kids are even more excited. We would like to see more state parks in Texas and beyond. I just wanted to share a picture of our new family member.

*** Weight update***
Nope still haven’t weighed myself yet. This is our 5th week walking and doing the ab coaster. I feel great and feel like I am starting to look better. Although I am not sure how much weight I have lost I do feel as though I have lost some inches. I could just kick myself for not measuring before this all started. I read another ladies website, www.sundrymourning.com and she just had her second baby I think early this year and she just got into a bikini. She actually works out much harder than I do but she has still been an inspiration, she is young, cute, has lots of energy and is a way better writer then I will ever be!

Swim team is over, what's next?

This blog is not intended to be a brag page for my children, it is to keep everyone who is far away updated on what’s going on in our lives and to share photos BUT I am going to brag just a bit about how proud I am of my children’s accomplishments:

Swim team is officially over for us. Last night we had our final meet and boy was it great! Although the Alligators lost they ended the season 4-1!

Jonathan had 3 heats, medley relay, free style and back stroke – he won 1st place in all 3 heats! He was so excited about this achievement and frankly so were we! It melts my heart to see how passionate he is about everything he does; he is a true competitor and has real love for all sports.

Kaela only had 1 heat last night, she was bummed. She had to swim against her really good friend. It is very hard to cheer on your own daughter when she is racing against a friend so we simply cheered for the both of them. She really wanted Sara to win the race, which she ended up doing. When the race ended Kaela got out of the water went over to hug Sara and told her “great race”. That is Kaela for you, kind hearted person, always caring about others before her own self. She really had a great season!

Bryanna loves swimming probably more than anything else. Sports aren’t really her thing, baking, coloring and just being LOUD are her passions but when it comes to being in the water she excels! She has learned a lot this year, breathing, strokes and kicking and it has shown. She won 1st place on her last heat and was thrilled to end the season off with a great win!

I am sure you are all thinking…ok Flores family what is next? Yup you know it – we aren’t done yet! Jonathan starts summer baseball July 2nd! Kaela is stuck between doing Tae Kwan Do or gymnastics with Bryanna in August…decisions decisions!

Father's Day

Father’s Day was nice, relaxing. Carlos and I stayed in bed until 1pm, yes I know seriously we were so lazy yesterday. I did however get up and feed my children, they came and showered him with their presents but we just lounged ½ the day away. Carlos got a call to play softball so he went off to do that while my dad bbq’d hamburgers and hotdogs for all of us. Jaime, Mike, Oliver and Lennon came over for the little celebration as well. The kids (well me) got Carlos a puzzle for his present, but the puzzle is of the kids and it says Happy Fathers Day – We love you. See below – he LOVED IT! (I will have to take a picture of the puzzle when it is complete)

Just here

This week has really been no different from any other week lately but for some reason I am just tired! The kids had a swim meet on Monday, Jonathan won 1st in 2 of his heats – he was ecstatic! Bry did well, she doesn’t really care what color she gets just as long as she gets a ribbon. Her quote this week was "Mom I swam 4 heats and got 4th place in all of them, 4 must be my lucky number!(with a giggle) She is not too competitive obvioulsy, she is on swim team because she loves to swim. She claims she is going to be on swim team for the rest of her life. Kaela’s form this week was outstanding, she looked like a pro swimmer she just needs to work on her speed – she did great though! They also had a swim meet on Thursday too. The Afton Alligators are now 3-0! These swim meets last 3 hours but that does not include having to be their early for warm up. Thank you Jagi for getting them there and then she and Dad stay the entire time. They are fun but just tiring for everyone involved! Next week they don’t have any meets which will be nice. Kaela and a few friends signed up for a Volleyball camp at the middle school she is attending in the fall. They are pretty excited. She has never really played the game but I figured if she enjoyed it then when 7th grade rolls around she can pick that as one of her electives, she will be familiar with the coach etc.

Jaime, Oliver and Lennon came over Wednesday. Oliver sure does love playing at our house. He has so much fun. Lennon of course slept the entire time, lazy little girl that is all she does. Jaime is so proud – she got SO lucky! Bry held Lennon for most of the time. She really enjoys her a lot. Lennon is smiling at you now when you talk to her, it’s SO cute!

We have no plans this weekend and I am loving it! I really just want to sleep in…can you dig that kids?

***Weight Update***
No I haven’t actually weighed myself again since the doctor’s visit but Mom and I have been going strong! Last week we walked 5 days and I did my Ab Coaster for 4 days, 150 each time. This week we have also walked 5 days and I may even slip in a weekend walk. I did the Ab Coaster 5 days but 200 each time this week. I don’t look skinnier YET but I sure do feel better. I don’t feel like the biggest fat ass in the world like I had been feeling! I am really hoping when I weigh myself in July there is some kind of poundage difference.

Oliver came to spend the night on Thursday. Oliver loves his Batman costume and cowboys accessories!

Jonathans and Bry are big puzzle kids, well they just love putting things together too.

Cousin Myranda spent the night too, Friday night they all got to paint a letter.

Here is Cousin Mason and Jonathan painting their letters.

Ball swim ball

Let’s see, basketball to baseball, baseball to swim team, swim team to summer baseball! I guess you know what you will be reading about until the end of July! The kids had their first swim meet on Monday. It was fun! Jonathan won 1st in the relay and then 2nd in freestyle and backstroke. He was very proud of himself. Bry won 2nd in backstroke and freestyle. Kaela only had one race and she won 2nd and she had an excellent dive. She almost made it to the halfway mark in the pool with just the dive! They are really enjoying it this year and they have worked very hard. They have practice every day, which they love to be in the pool but they sure are exhausted by night fall. I didn’t take my camera to the first meet but will take it next Monday for sure to post some pictures.

Since summer has officially begun Mom and I have started to walk in the mornings before I go to work. We are doing 30 mins this week and moving it up to 40 mins next week, Monday – Thursday. If we have time to throw in a walk during the weekends we will. I also purchased my first infomercial item! It is called the Ab Coaster. I got it Monday and put it together last night. It is pretty neat. I only did 100 last night and will probably keep up with that for a week and then move up. I basically have a 30 day trial to decide if it is a keeper or not SO I have to use it as much as possible to see if there are any results. Kaela too enjoyed it last night. She actually just called me and said "Mom I just did another 100"! I just told her not to go overboard with it, it wasnt really meant for her althought she HATES how she looks in a 2 piece...yes it starts that young! I cut cokes and cutting my food intake (SO HARD FOR ME!). Mom is hoping that we are 10 pounds less by the end of June; I was shooting for like 5 pounds. I am trying really hard to be realistic about the whole approached. I don’t want to get bored with it. It would be great to look “cute” for Garner State Park in late August! I will not weigh myself until the end of June though, I like to see results!

No pictures, forgot to bring my camera to work. I will work on that though…I have some cute pics of Lennon!
